At 2 o'clock on the morning of July 13, at a distance of 1441 kilometers from the Beijing-Tibet Highway, a semi-trailer truck and a tanker full of dangerous chemicals collided and led to the leakage of dangerous chemicals in tankers. After the incident, the Pingchuan Fire Squadron and Jingyuan Fire Squadron of Baiyin City rushed to the scene to rescue. After 27 hours of intense rescue, the hazardous chemical spill was properly handled. The accident did not cause any casualties.
On the same day, Jingyuan Fire Squadron officers and soldiers arrived at the scene and were informed by investigation that a leaked tanker belonging to a dangerous chemical product belonging to Jiangsu had 33 tons of tanks, 15 meters in length, and 29.6 tons of dangerous chemicals in the tank. The tank valve at the tail of the tanker is damaged, and hazardous chemical liquid flows from the valve. The fire brigades attempted to plug the leak first, but because the leaks were too scattered, after many attempts, it was declared that the plugging failed.
Successful processing
The fire brigade then decided to inject the remaining dangerous chemical liquid in the damaged tank into another tank, and at 5 o'clock in the morning on the 14th, the backfill operation was successfully completed. Subsequent landfill disposal of hazardous chemical liquids was performed.
