Bartronics, an Indian RFID solution provider, announced that it will use RFID technology to help Avitar Group, a mobile phone wholesaler in Singapore, automate the mobile distribution process.
Bartronics will develop a solution to track outgoing calls at the Avitar warehouse. Each mobile phone box will be affixed with an RFID tag, which corresponds to the national law mobile device identity code. The cell phone boxes stacked on the cart and ready for shipment will be automatically scanned and read by the RFID reader.
At the warehouse's exit, Bartronics will set up a Gantry RFID reader to confirm the correct amount of each shipment.
Avitar ships nearly 40,000 handsets per month and hopes that RFID systems will help streamline processes and increase shipping turnaround time.
