PAG quenching liquid has not only been successfully applied in induction hardening of general structural steel parts, but also has a satisfactory quenching effect in the hardened layer, especially in induction hardening of cast steel or cast iron parts.
1 Zhengzhou Hydraulic Machinery Factory used the guide rails of the underwater gates for the Three Gorges Dam to continuously quench the medium frequency. The guide rail is made of ZG42CrMo. The depth of the hardened layer is greater than 15mm. Surface cracks are not allowed. The plant uses PAG-type quenching agent to exaggerate 8-20, using a concentration of 14%, so that the depth of the hardened layer reaches 22 to 26 mm, no cracks, and the deformation is also small.
2 Dongfeng Motor Corporation engine factory inductive heating and quenching of 8 cams of chrome molybdenum alloy cast iron camshaft on EQ491 engine on a special horizontal quenching machine. When induction hardening is performed, the camshaft is in a cast blank state. The quenching technical requirements are: surface hardness of 50 to 60 HRC, depth of the hardened layer of the peach tip is 4.6 to 10.0, and depth of the hardening layer of the base is 1.5 to 8.0 mm. The plant uses 11% of the current 8-20 quenching liquid, after the workpiece is heated, it is immersed in the quenching liquid and quenched and cooled. As a result of quenching, the camshaft has no quenching, and the quenching hardness and hardening depth of each part satisfy all requirements.
