On the one hand, foreign companies are vying for talents and establishing R&D centers in China. This phenomenon is already widespread. On the other hand, a group of state-invested backbone enterprises are facing a severe situation of loss of technicians in the process of development. How to use talents, policies, and treatment to stabilize talents and avoid brain drain will also be an urgent problem for domestic equipment manufacturers.
Gap Analysis
At present, the gap between China's scientific instruments and foreign countries is mainly reflected in the two aspects of technology level and comprehensive strength of enterprises.
Technology gap:
(1) Product reliability is poor
At present, China's research on basic technology and manufacturing processes is not enough. Some key technologies such as precision machining technology, sealing technology and welding technology that have affected reliability have not been solved yet. The reliability index (average trouble-free operation time) of the existing domestic high-end instruments is roughly 1-2 orders of magnitude compared with foreign products.
(2) The performance and function of the product are backward
Existing domestic products are one order of magnitude worse than foreign products in terms of measurement accuracy, and the degree of intelligence of foreign products is already quite high. In addition, in terms of product networking, foreign countries have entered a practical stage, and China has just started.
(3) Long cycle of product technology update
Today's foreign product technology update cycle is about 2-3 years, the reserve of new technology is generally advanced to 10 years; and Chinese companies often introduce foreign technology to achieve the renewal of a generation of products, but also the introduction can not be well absorbed, developed New product originality and other issues. Some instrument products adopting the new principle are still in a blank state in China, and although the research institutes have tracked new technologies, although they have achieved results, it is still relatively rare to integrate with enterprises to achieve industrialization.
(4) Lack of dedicated solutions developed for the use of objects
In recent years, the development of measurement control and instrumentation in foreign countries is a software product that closely integrates instrumentation and application objects, and finally provides users with personalized solutions. However, Chinese companies have not yet formed an industry in this regard.

Designation as a DIN Flange by the German Institute of Standardization assures the user of design quality the way an ASME flange would here in America.
