News reports on Monday said Chinese scientists have developed self-cleaning cotton fabrics.
They say that they have developed a chemical coating so that when the fabric is exposed to sunlight, the cotton material can remove its own stains and clean up its odor.
According to scientists, the paint is non-toxic, and the paint can remain intact after washing and drying.
To test the effectiveness of the invention, the engineers applied the orange dye to the fabric and exposed them to a 1000 watt UV lamp. Within two hours, the stain on the fabric disappeared.
