HTC Announces VR Helmet Vive to Be Listed Next April

On December 9th, according to US media reports, HTC announced that the Vive virtual reality headset that was originally planned to be shipped at the end of the year will be postponed until April next year. The company issued a statement on the official blog, "clarifying rumors and wrong information", confirming the news of postponing listing. The statement said: "We will provide developers with an additional 7,000 devices at the beginning of the new year, and the commercial release will take place in April 2016."

HTC is releasing Vive this spring. The device is a high-end VR headset manufactured by HTC and Valve's SteamVR program. HTC has already revised its listing date. In August, the company said that before the end of the year, limited sales, large-scale listing will be carried out in the first quarter of 2016 - in sync with the Oculus Rift listing window. In addition, HTC also said that the second-generation development kits available to game developers earlier this year will be launched at CES. But it is not clear how this relates to the commercial version of the listing.

It's not clear whether HTC and Valve have reached the “best experience” because they are still developing hardware or have enough games and entertainment content to meet the full listing needs. In any case, HTC is committed to demonstrating the device at many shows, including the Sundance Film Festival, the SXSW Conference, the Game Developers Conference, and the World Mobile Communications Conference (MWC). But it is not clear whether it will enter the user's living room at the end of this year, or the price.

The full text of the HTC statement is as follows:

In order to clarify and eliminate rumors and error messages about the sale of HTC Vive this month, we will now announce the latest HTC Vive situation. We remain committed to providing HTC Vive to a wider range of content creators and partners, and are still focused on providing the best experience for the release of the consumer version.

Since the announcement of the HTC Vive in March of this year, we have focused on developing immersive content, improving hardware design and user experience, and building new connections with new partners both inside and outside the gaming industry. In partnership with Valve, we have been providing HTC Vive Developer Toolkits to developers and content creators, and continue to work with many other innovative companies to create content across games, entertainment, healthcare, education and retail. This includes the Developers Conference in Beijing on December 18th and the second-generation HTC Vive Developer Kit at CES, attending the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW Conference, Game Developers Conference and MWC.

We will provide developers with an additional 7,000 devices at the beginning of the new year, followed by a commercial release in April 2016. We are very excited about the future and look forward to sharing more information with you during this time.

Ceramic plates made of zirconia or alumina have excellent weatherability, and they have no effect on the surface and substrate, whether it is sunlight, rain (even acid rain) or moisture. UV resistance and color stability are fully up to international gray level 4-5.Similarly, large or rapid temperature changes will not affect the properties and appearance of the material. The reasonable combination of bending strength and elasticity makes the ceramic plate have high impact strength. The dense material surface makes it difficult for dust to adhere, making it easier to clean.
