Speech by Chairman Liao Yunxuan 
Secretary-General Li Zhihong delivered a speech at the Taiwan University of Science and Technology on May 26, 2011, sponsored by the Taiwan Society of Abrasive Processing, the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Taiwan University and the Superhard Materials Branch of the China Machine Tool Industry Association. The International Lecture Hall of the College Comprehensive Building was held. The conference was a continuation of the first meeting of the China Machine Tool Industry Association Superhard Materials Branch and the Taiwan Abrasive Processing Society in Xi'an, China, on October 12-13, 2010. At the meeting, there were 28 representatives from the Supervisory Board of the Taiwan Abrasive Processing Society and 50 from the Superhard Materials Branch of the Mainland. Although the number of representatives in Taiwan is small, it represents the unit with a total output value of more than 60% of Taiwan's superhard materials and products; the mainland representative is the majority representative of the three-time executive director's enlarged meeting, and the main production units are represented. Gifts were given to each other between the two organizations before the meeting. The meeting was first delivered by the director of Taiwan Liao Yunxuan and the Secretary-General of the mainland Li Zhihong. Afterwards, Secretary-General Li introduced the development and status quo of China's diamond industry with the title of “China Diamond on the World Marketâ€. The report of “Overview of Taiwan's Superhard Materials Industryâ€, General Manager Chen Wendong of Qiyi Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. made a report on “Taiwan Superhard Materials Market Analysisâ€, and General Manager Song Jianmin of Drilling Technology Co., Ltd. made “superhard materialsâ€. General Manager Chen Wendong made a report in the report that Secretary-General Li introduced that the output of Continental Diamond reached 9.2 billion carats in 2010, and the quantity has accounted for 90% of the world total. The products are exported to 59 countries and regions, and the export of diamond-like diamond tools is exported. It is the largest production and exporter of superhard materials and products in the world in 125 countries and regions on five continents. The report of Taiwanese counterparts shows that there are more than 2,000 employees, and the market capacity is less than 2 billion yuan, of which more than 60% are produced by themselves and more than 30% are imported. However, the products produced by Taiwanese counterparts are of high grade and high added value, and the per capita annual output value is about RMB 500,000, which is much higher than the average value of RMB 150,000 in the same industry in mainland China. Moreover, Taiwan does not have artificial diamond and cubic boron nitride abrasive production enterprises, and the cross-strait enterprises are highly complementary and have good cooperation prospects.

Lan Minxiong specifically planned, prepared and arranged, and assumed the cost of the meeting. After the seminar, he warmly invited all the mainland compatriots to visit his company, and all the leaders of the company came to the reception. This is a large-scale reception and visit that he has never had since the factory was established. Chairman Lan’s broad mind and enthusiasm have really touched the mainland compatriots! In the evening, Chairman Lan also hosted more than 80 participants from the mainland and Taiwan. During the meeting, the two sides of the strait continued to exchange in depth, exchange greetings, and wish each other a prosperous future. They are willing to join hands and work together to contribute to the revitalization and development of the entire Chinese nation and contribute to the development of the entire world economy.
