On November 3, 2010, the “2010 Corporate Social Responsibility Blue Book†conference was held in Beijing by the Economics Department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Social Science Literature Publishing House. It was published in the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility of the Economics Department of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. This is the second time that the Academy of Social Sciences released the Blue Book on Corporate Social Responsibility. The conference was hosted by Huang Qunhui, deputy director of the Research Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Chen Jiagui, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the chairman of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave a comprehensive introduction to the 2010 Blue Book on Corporate Social Responsibility. Zhong Hongwu, director of the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility of the Department of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, gave a keynote speech at the press conference. The guests at the meeting also answered questions about media concerns.
The Blue Book General Report "China Corporate Social Responsibility Development Index Report (2010)" evaluated the status of social responsibility management and social responsibility information disclosure of 300 enterprises in the top 100 state-owned enterprises, top 100 private enterprises and top 100 foreign companies. The research found that: (1) China's corporate social responsibility development index is still in the spectator stage; (2) responsibility practice is ahead of responsibility management, market responsibility index is better than environmental responsibility and social responsibility; (3) power supply industry is in a leading stage, and most of the industry is in a bystander stage; 4) The social responsibility index of state-owned enterprises is ahead of private enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises; (5) The social responsibility index of European and American companies in China is better than that of Taiwan, South Korea and other Asian countries.
The blue book special article "Government and Corporate Social Responsibility: Theoretical Framework, Tool Selection and Practical Experience" states that although the government's regulatory system at all levels is relatively perfect, the central government and local government promotion system still needs further improvement. Improve the corporate social responsibility promotion system; the government social responsibility supervision system at all levels has not yet been established, the responsibility certification work has just started, and the responsibility supervision means is too single.
