Fertilizer industry completed a total investment of 17.77 billion yuan in fixed assets in the first quarter

From January to March 2013, the fertilizer industry completed a total investment of 17.77 billion yuan in fixed assets, an increase of 9.48% year-on-year, accounting for 10.02% of the planned investment. The nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer, potash fertilizer and compound fertilizer sub-sectors completed investments of 3.88 billion yuan, 1.33 billion yuan, 659 million yuan, and 5.59 billion yuan, respectively, representing a year-on-year increase of -30.14%, -16.78%, 409.08%, and 18.17%.

From January to March, a total of 629 fertilizer projects were under construction, an increase of 6.43% year-on-year, and potash fertilizer construction projects saw an increase of 69.23% year-on-year, while construction projects in the nitrogen fertilizer industry decreased by 20.19% year-on-year. From January to March, a total of 211 new projects were started, which represented an increase of 7.11% year-on-year. Nitrogen fertilization projects, phosphate fertilizer projects, and new projects for potash fertilizers decreased by 18.75%, 50.00%, and 40.00% respectively year-on-year. The number of projects completed during the same period was 121, an increase of 14.15% over the same period of last year.

From January to March, the average size of fertilizer investment projects was 28.25 million yuan, an increase of 2.86% year-on-year, and the average scale of potash fertilizer investment projects increased by 200.82%. The average size of nitrogen fertilizer investment projects continued to decline, falling by 12.47%.
